Wedding at a Vejer wedding venue · Celia & Carlos
My way of working as a wedding photographer is based on telling stories exactly as they unfold. And this wedding at a Vejer wedding venue was just that: an elegant, honest and fully lived celebration. No forced poses, no stolen time, just letting the day move at its own pace.
Celia and Carlos’ wedding took place in Vejer, at Hacienda Montenmedio, and it was a perfect example of how an elegant wedding can also feel relaxed, natural and genuinely joyful. It was a mid-sized wedding, with a lot of young guests and an atmosphere that stayed warm and lively throughout the day. One of those weddings that tells its own story, without the need to interfere — which is exactly what documentary wedding photography is about.
An outdoor ceremony at a Vejer wedding venue
The civil ceremony took place outdoors, under the shade of Montenmedio’s centuries-old cork oak tree. It was simple, emotional and beautifully understated. Emotions — especially those of the couple — took centre stage. Nothing felt overdone, and that allowed moments to flow naturally, without interruption.
Carlos, equally elegant, moved through the day with a constant smile and a calm, grounded presence. Being from Galicia, many guests travelled from there for the celebration, and that really shaped the atmosphere. There was a strong sense of reunion, joy and a genuine desire to celebrate together
A long cocktail and a celebration full of life
After the ceremony, the couple enjoyed a long, unhurried cocktail — always a good decision. There were thoughtful nods to both of their roots: traditional Galician pulpeiros and, as a tribute to Cádiz and Andalucía, seafood delicacies known locally as jamón del mar. Everything felt natural, personal and effortlessly integrated.
One of the most memorable moments came later, during the party. Carlos surprised everyone by appearing on the dance floor wearing a Mexican hat and, accompanied by a friend on guitar, singing a ranchera to Celia. It was spontaneous, emotional and deeply authentic — one of those moments that simply happens, and stays with you.
For this wedding, I worked combining digital and film photography. Analogue photography fits perfectly with weddings like this, where emotion leads and nothing needs to be rushed. Shooting on film allows me to slow down, observe carefully and document what’s happening without interrupting it.
As a Cadiz wedding photographer, and working across Andalucía, weddings like this are exactly why I do what I do. This was an authentic, private Vejer wedding, full of emotion and meaning. A celebration that didn’t need to be directed — only observed and remembered.
