Documentary & film wedding photographer in Andalusia
If you close your eyes, what do you remember?
Not the poses. The people. Your best friend’s laugh, your dad’s hands, the light over dinner, the moment the music started and nobody stayed seated.
I’m María, a documentary and film wedding photographer in Andalusia. I photograph weddings so you can go back to how they felt, not just how they looked.
Your people
A wedding is the one day everyone you love is in the same place. The grandmother who travelled from Manchester, the friends who’ve known you since school, the uncle who always dances first. I photograph them as much as I photograph you, because one day they’ll be the photos you look for first.
Light and intention
I don’t just wait for things to happen. I choose where to stand, what stays in the frame and what’s left out, and I chase the light: late afternoon in a courtyard, candles on a long table, the flash in the middle of the party. Honest photographs, never careless ones.
Film
Alongside digital, I shoot 35mm and medium format film. Grain, warmth, a little movement, sometimes a face half out of the frame. Film doesn’t make your wedding look perfect. It makes it feel like a memory.
You won't spend your wedding posing
I don’t need you to do things for the photos. I need you to do your wedding: hug, eat, dance, cry during the speeches, disappear for a minute with your friends.
Portraits take as long as you want them to. If you’d rather keep it to a few minutes, that’s perfect. If you’d love more time just the two of you, we’ll make it happen. The rest of the day belongs to you and your people, and I’ll be there, close and quiet, making sure none of it is lost.
How I'll take care of you
Before
A few weeks before the wedding I’ll send you a questionnaire about your people, your story and the moments you don’t want to miss. You give me the context; I’ll never ask you for a script.
Planning
With that, I build the photography timeline for you: when the light is best, how long each moment needs, where we should be. Especially helpful when you’re organising everything from abroad.
On the day
Family photos from a short list, done quickly so everyone can get back to the party. Then I blend in and let the day happen.
After
In around six weeks you’ll receive your full gallery, digital and film together, so you see your wedding as one complete story. It’s an online gallery, ready to download and share with the people who were there, and with those who couldn’t be.
Where do you photograph weddings?
Do you speak English?
Yes. All our emails, calls and planning happen in English, and on the day, the camera does most of the talking. Being Spanish also helps a lot with venues and suppliers.
Do you photograph civil and religious weddings?
All of them: civil, religious, symbolic, big celebrations and tiny elopements. What matters to me is not the format, but that the day revolves around your people.
Do you work with wedding planners?
Often, and happily. If you don’t have one, I can also recommend local suppliers I trust.
How much does it cost?
Every wedding is different, so I prepare a personal proposal based on your date, location, coverage and whether you’d like film. Travel depends on where you’re celebrating, and it’s always clearly included.
How do we book?
Write to me with your date, venue and a few words about the two of you. I’ll send you a proposal, and once we sign the contract, the date is yours.
Tell me about your wedding
Where it is, who’ll be there, and what you’d love to remember when you close your eyes.
